There is a dog-friendly stairgate to stop muddy paws going upstairs in each of the properties.

No dogs are permitted in the Chapel.

Dogs staying in the Cottage must be on a lead at all times within the yard and farm, due to the proximity to the animals, however there is a forestry path very close to the Cottage where dogs can be let off the lead to have a run around.

Merthyr Asda is the nearest supermarket and is located around 15-20 minutes away. M&S Food is 20-25 minutes away.

The Animal Sanctuary Enquiries

Absolutely, everything we do at Far From is centred around taking care of our wonderful animals and we encourage you to join us and say hello.

Meet and greet morning sessions can last anywhere from 1-2 hours and it can be as hands on as you like. This unique experience allows guests to immerse themselves in our Sanctuary’s morning routine and see first hand how your holiday helps us to support the animals under our care.

The meet and greet is aimed at adults, but can be adapted to children of all ages. Please let us know the age of the children attending before your arrival.

Due to the nature of our morning sessions, we do not allow under-7s to participate. However, we are more than happy to organise a more suitable later session for groups with smaller children. These afternoon sessions will be shorter in nature (approximately 30 mins) and are designed to be more child-friendly.
