We would like to welcome you to the Far From Holiday Retreat website. Set in the very heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Far From is the perfect place to enjoy everything that this beautiful landscape has to offer.
From hiking and walking, cycling to fishing, Far From is close enough to a whole host of activities and attractions – but just far enough away to allow you to immerse yourself in the peace and quiet of the Brecon Beacons.
At Far From, everything we do is centred around taking care of our wonderful rescue animals. We focus on animals that are unable to be re-homed of working animals in need of retirement, who live out their days alongside us.
Have a look at what some of our lovely renters have to say!
We got there in the dark, it was nice to get in, make a fire and get cosy. When we woke up we were in for a real treat! Opened the curtains to get the most wonderful view of the reservoir and hills. What really made it though was when the pig wandered past the living room window, I was probably more excited than our 6 year old! Fantastic location to head out onto the mountains. You could probably walk out from the cottage, but we took a short drive to a nearby car park and hiked up Fan-y-Big. Waterfalls to explore not too far away as well. Brilliant location, friendly host, pig, sheep, chickens and Alpacas. Love to come again.

Felicity warmly welcomed us to her idyllic farmstead. The home was lovely and clean and she had preheated the hot tub ready for our arrival. I can't overstate the beauty of the location, overlooking the reservoir and valley. The various farm animals were also very charming. Thank you, Felicity for being such a great host and we wish you well for the future.

We had a lovely time! The addition of fire pit out the back was a hit in the evening with the kids. Seeing the miniature horses and Alpacas out the window when getting up on the first morning was a real treat for the kids. We did the ‘meet and greet’ with the animals and it is just amazing the work Felicity is doing with supporting these animals who have been poorly treated and given up on. The caravan was really cosy and had everything you would need. The WiFi could have been a little more consistent given lack of mobile coverage. Close to lovely walks and Felicity is happy to point you in the right direction for your needs. Would definitely stay again!

We Loved our stay here! Have recommended to lots of friends and will probably be back myself, such a beautiful remote area with lovely animals and hosts are very friendly and informative on local walks. Warm cosy caravan, hot tub was a bonus and the view just stunning. Thank you

Lovely host in a beautiful location, a bit out in the sticks but instructions to find are great. Felicity was very helpful and recommend some stunning local walks for us, the air b n b was private but she was always on hand if we needed! Highly recommend staying on her idyllic farm - thank you so much! x

We had a lovely stay with my boyfriend for my birthday. Very peaceful and beautiful views. Loved the animals there and it’s obvious that Felicity does a wonderful job looking after them. I made a new friend named Maple ( a lady sheep that loves a good ear scratch). There’s also loads of alpacas, chickens, a horse, more sheep and a cute pig❤️ Also used the hot tub which was wonderful and relaxing but probably should have done that closer to summer as it was freezing when we got out 😂 still worth it! wish we would live closer so we could visit more often!

Lovely cottage with stunning views. Felicity & Dave were welcoming and friendly, and gave us recommendations on walks to go on. We used the hot tub area which was a beautiful added extra. The cottage itself was clean, bed was comfy and was lovely and peaceful. We loved our stay, thankyou!

Beautiful surroundings with amazing views (if the weather is good), we had bad weather but we loved it anyway. Location is very private and peaceful. Thankyou Felicity!

Felicity is everything you could ask for in a host and more. She is attentive, super friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home straight away and is always on hand should you need anything. If you're looking for a quiet retreat in the beacons, look no further. The mini corner is well equipped and cosy, with amazing views of the nearby reservoir. There is also a decked area outside with a barbecue, chairs and table for those dry nights (unfortunately we had rain the entire time!). The location is also perfect for those looking to do lots of walking, with a number of fantastic trails within a 15 min drive. The sanctuary itself is home to a variety of rescued animals from miniature ponies to alpacas which really does add to the magic of the place - we would highly recommend the meet and greet session which Felicity hosts, allowing you to get up close with the Far From residents. The work she does is inspirational and knowing you're supporting it is even better. We'll be back!
